De Kunsthal: cultural institution

The Kunsthal was built in 1989, to attract new public by creating multiple high-contrast and high-profile exhibitions and activities at the same time. The iconic building offers 7 different exhibitions at the same time. The Kunsthal offers around 25 different exhibitions each year along with different cultures and art movements. The Kunsthal is called a magic box with an international style, instead of being called a museum since they don’t own the collections.

Maritime Museum

The Maritime Museum wants to make people aware of the big influence the maritime world has on our daily lives. With rotating exhibitions, the museum takes visitors of all ages on a journey through the Dutch maritime present and past. Stories will be told, pieces from the iconic collection will be shown, and visitors will be challenged to join different activities. The museum is located in the oldest and biggest museum port of the Netherlands.

The children diy-exhibition Professor Plons has been approved by the Dutch Foundation for the Handicapped Child (NSGK). Some children need proper preparation for their museum visit, such as children with an autism spectrum disorder.
