‘This is Holland’ flight experience: a chance to discover Holland in a fun and unique way. The brand-new attraction, through the employment of 5D technology, allows you to feel like flying over Hollands’ characteristic landscapes. The places where the virtual flight takes you include the flowering tulips fields, the capital city of Amsterdam, the amusing mill town of Zaanse Schans. In this Holland flight experience, your senses will be totally overthrown by smells, wind and the fascinating aerial perspectives it provides.

Moreover, the flight experience is introduced by two recorded shows: the Netherlands in the past and the Netherlands in the present. These two shows will make you very familiar with the story of Holland, from the building of the first dike until our the contemporary days. Whilst waiting to see these the movies, there are interactive panels testing your knowledge on Holland through questions about culture and history of our country.

The building, situated in Overhoeksplein 51, can be reached by ferry from the central station. The ferry is equipped to allow people with reduced mobility to enjoy the transfer without any problems. There are no steps at the entrance of ‘This is Holland’ and the inside staircase can be avoided with the elevator. For people with reduced mobility, there is the possibility of joining the flight experience when they have the ability to transfer from the wheelchair to the ride seat by themselves or with the assistance of a companion. There are seat belts and handhold which would increase the safety during the virtual flight.

Once the flight experience is finished, there is a lounge on the ground floor, where is possible to buy some food and drinks. In this lounge is possible to find out more about what was shown during the experience thanks to the presence of other interactive screens. Another important note; the venue has a wheelchair adapted toilet.

The Holland Experience building is accessible for people with an electric wheelchair or scooter, if the equipment is maximum 90 centimeters wide. If you are confined to a wheelchair, unfortunately, there is no option to go into the flight experience. There’s the interactive panels and souvenir shop, however no solution to join the flight experience. We therefore do not highly recommend to visit the Holland Experience. We would rather recommend a visit to the Look-out point on the ADAM Tower. This venue is located on the same street as This is Holland.
