Access to renovated Maritime Museum

Blog

After 4 years of renovating, the National Maritime Museum (Scheepvaartmuseum) in Amsterdam opened its doors again. With the renovations a visit to the museum is made easy for all!

The old building now has elevators to all levels and a wheelchair elevator was placed to get into the VOC ship. To stimulate easy navigation, clear signage is placed throughout the museum. The restaurant is spacious and the chairs can be moved around. With the new interior the museum is accessible to children, parents with prams, seniors and people with disabilities.
